This is an innovative transmission concept for electric vehicles to increase their driving range while using the same battery pack. CROSS-DRIVE™ uses two smaller motors instead of one large motor and activates only the one that offers the best efficiency in low to medium speed driving. Particularly interesting for urban and stop-and-go driving (buses, taxis, delivery vans, refuse trucks), CROSS-DRIVE™ extends the high efficiency fields from the electric motors to the low vehicle speed and to the low torques that are both much used in urban driving.
